Privacy Policy
Free Board Foot is a static website that takes a minimal approach to data collection. This policy explains what we do and do not collect, how the site functions technically, and what that means for your privacy.
What We Collect
No personal data. We do not require accounts, registration, or any form of sign-in. We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any other personally identifiable information through normal site use.
Calculator inputs — board dimensions, species selections, quantities, prices — are processed entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. These values are never transmitted to our servers and are not stored outside your own device.
Analytics
We may use standard web analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited, where traffic originates, and how the site is used overall. Any analytics data collected is aggregate and statistical; it is not linked to individual users or devices. If and when specific analytics tools are in use, this policy will name them.
LocalStorage
We use the browser's localStorage mechanism — not cookies — to remember your theme preference (light or dark mode) between visits. This data is stored only in your browser, never transmitted to our servers, and can be cleared at any time through your browser's privacy or site data settings.
Cookies
We do not set any first-party tracking cookies. If third-party services (such as analytics providers) that we use set their own cookies, those are governed by the respective provider's privacy policy. We will update this notice if cookie use changes.
Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or share data with third parties. We do not use advertising networks that track users across sites. If third-party services are added in the future that handle any user data, this policy will be updated before those services are activated.
Children's Privacy
Free Board Foot does not knowingly collect information from children or any other users. Because no personal data is collected from anyone, there is no specific children's data to address.
Data Retention
We do not retain personal data because we do not collect it. Aggregate analytics data (if collected) is retained only as long as necessary for understanding traffic patterns and is not linked to individuals.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete on our end. Your theme preference stored in localStorage can be removed at any time through your browser settings. For any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@freeboardfoot.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if our data practices change. The date at the bottom of this page reflects the last revision. Continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you track what I type into the calculators?
No. All calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No input values — dimensions, quantities, prices, species selections — are transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere outside your own device. The calculations happen locally and the results are displayed locally.
Do you use cookies?
We do not set tracking cookies. We use localStorage (a browser-side storage mechanism, not a cookie) solely to remember your theme preference (light or dark mode) between visits. This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us.
Is my data shared with third parties?
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties because we do not collect personal data. If we add third-party analytics services in the future, this policy will be updated before those services are activated.
How do I request deletion of my data?
Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is nothing to delete on our end. Your browser's localStorage entry for theme preference can be cleared at any time through your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached data / Site data). That is the only data stored locally.
